Dubai Arbitration Week (‘DAW’) is an annual event connecting the UAE’s diverse and busy community of arbitration practitioners with the global arbitration community. Through practical discussion and academic debate, its mission is to showcase the UAE’s and the wider Middle East’s important role in the development of arbitration practice and to recognise the pre-eminent role that arbitration plays in resolving commercial disputes and upholding the rule of law across the MENA region. The UAE’s arbitration landscape is particularly unique in hosting multiple seats of arbitration, including common law islands such as the Dubai International Financial Centre and the Abu Dhabi Global Market that co-exist with the traditional ‘on-shore’ seats in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and other Emirates. Since its inception, DAW has grown exponentially to become one of the largest and most well attended arbitration events in the world. With over 140 events planned for 2024, this year’s DAW (taking place from 11 – 15 November 2024) is set to be the largest ever. The full schedule of events is live now.
DAW is organised by a committee of volunteers from the UAE’s arbitration community who are proud represent the interests of the local community and to promote international arbitration and ADR as peaceful means of dispute resolution.
