Dr. Tarek Fouad Abdel Moneim Riad Professor of Commercial and Business Law and Head of the Business Law Department
of Management Technology at the German University in Cairo from 2003 to date. Chairman of the Executive Committee
of the Dubai International Arbitration Center from 2013 to 2019. Member of the Supreme Council of Arbitration of
the Mediation and Arbitration Center of the Arab Banks Union of the League of Arab States, since March 2023. A
member of the American Bar Association, he has the right to plead before the New York State Supreme Courts, as
well as the federal courts since 1985, and the Egyptian courts since 1980. Member of the International Chamber of
Commerce Court of Arbitration in Paris (2012 - 2018). He obtained a Master's degree in arbitration in 1982 and a
Doctorate (SJD) from Harvard Law School in 1985. His doctoral dissertation, which received the highest rank, was
on the subject of "Arbitration in the Field of State Contracts". Member of the Board of Directors of the
International Business Law Institute of the International Chamber of Commerce (Paris) from 2005 to date. Dr. Tarek
Riad is the Managing partner of Kosheri, Rashed & Riad Law Firm since 1989 (the name of the office was changed to
be Tarek Riad & Partners – Legal Consultants & Attorneys at Law). He was a Professor of Private International Law
and Acting Director of the RenéJean Dupuy Center for Law and Development (Senghor University) from 1998 to 2003.
Dr. Tarek began his career as a delegate to the State Council, and a teacher of private international law at the
Faculty of Law, Cairo University, Beni Suef Branch, from 1983 to 1988. He is registered as an arbitrator with the
International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Abu Dhabi Chamber
